In this article we are going to discuss about the concept of point object.<\/p>\n\n\n
A point object is one, which has no linear dimensions but possesses mass. In practice this is not possible. In physics an object is termed as a point object if the distance it travels is very large as compared to its dimensions.<\/p>\n\n\n
(i) Moving persons on earth as seen from a distant aircraft in space or a satellite are called point objects.
(ii) Size of earth moving in space is taken as a point object w.r.t. large size of universe.
(iii) Earth is treated as a point object during its revolution around the sun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
