First you have to determine whether each statement is correct or not. If both the statements are correct, then you have to determine whether the reason support the assertion.

Example of assertion and reason type questions:

Assertion: Fuse wire must have high resistance and low melting point.
Reason: Fuse is used for small current flow only.
(A) Both Assertion and Reason are correct and Reason is the correct explanation for Assertion.
(B) Both Assertion and Reason are correct but Reason is not the correct explanation for Assertion
(C) Assertion is correct but Reason is incorrect
(D) Assertion is incorrect but Reason is correct

First of all you have to check whether each statement is correct or not independently.

Here assertion is right because due to high resistance, the wire heats up quickly and temperature rises rapidly when large amount of current flows through it. When the temperature reaches the melting point of the resistance wire it burns and protects the circuit. Hence, the assertion is correct. The fuse wire protects the circuit from high currents. So, reason is wrong. Therefore, option (c) is right.

Assertion Reason Questions for Class 12 Physics

Here we have provided Chapterwise Assertion Reason Questions for class 12 physics.

Chapter 1 Electric Charges And Fields

Chapter 2 Electrostatic Potential And Capacitance

Chapter 3 Current Electricity

Chapter 4 Moving Charges And Magnetism

Chapter 5 Magnetism And Matter

Chapter 6 Electromagnetic Induction

Chapter 7 Alternating Current

Chapter 8 Electromagnetic Waves

Chapter 9 Ray Optics and Optical Instruments

Chapter 10 Wave Optics

Chapter 11 Dual Nature Of Radiation And Matter

Chapter 12 Atoms

Chapter 13 Nuclei

Chapter 14 Semiconductor Electronics Materials Devices And Simple Circuits

Assertion Reason Questions for Class 12 Physics Term 2 Exams

Assertion Reason Question Bank for Physics

Assertion reason questions requires more practice as these questions are based on conceptual and logical thinking.
